Plant Science Instruments / Porometers

PMR-5 Steady State Porometer

The PMR-5 is a hand-held unit using an gopen systemh measurement of leaf transpiration. There is an integral mass-flow controlled air supply and and manual control of humidity up to ambient. The lightweight cuvette is designed to couple the leaf to the ambient temperature using a fan, heat sink and radiation shield. There is a stirring fan in the chamber to minimize the boundary layer resistance. Digital humidity and temperature sensors accurate-ly monitor the air entering and leaving the cuvette. There are closely situated in the chamber with tortuous air paths to minimize the temperature difference between sensors.
Design to be used with the EGM-4 CO2 analyzer. The EGM-4 supplies the Power (internal, rechargeable 12V battery), measures the outputs from the Porometer sensors, processes the results, displays and records the data.

AP4 Porometer
  • Direct readout of conductance or resistance
  • Simple absolute calibration in the filed
  • Minimises leaf stress during measurement
  • Award-winning user interface

Stomatal aperture is the dominant factor in the diffusion conduc-tance of the leaf surfaces, which controls both the water loss From plant leaves and the uptake of CO2 for photosynthesis.
Measurements of diffusion conductance are therefore important Indicators of plant water status and provide a valuable insight Into plant growth and plant adaptation to environmental variables.

Plant Science Instruments / Water Potential Measurement

Dew Point Microvolmeter HR-33T

The standard in water potential measurement, Wescor`s Dew Point Microvoltmeter, model HR-33T, can determine Water potential using both dew point and we bulb methods.
It contains sophisticated sensing and control circuitry that automatically maintains the temperature of the thermo-couple junction at the dew point temperature when operat-ing in the dew point mode. The HR-33T can be used in both a laboratory and a field environment. When coupled with our Virtual Strip Chart Recorder(part AC-050) the HR-33T is ideal for teaching students about water potential determ-ination using using psychrometric principles.

Plant Science Instruments / Oxygen Meter

FIBOX 3 Single Channel Fiber-Optic Oxygen Meter For Mini-Sensors

The Fibox 3 is a single channel, temperature compensated oxygen meter for use with fiberoptic oxygen minisensors based on a 2mm polymer optical fiber (POF). The smaller outer dimensions, low power consumption and a robust box make it ready forindoor and outdoor applications. For operation, a PC/Notebook with RS-232 interface is required. The Fibox is controlled using a comfortable software, which also saves and visualizes the measured values. The Fibox 3 has 2 analog outputs (0 - 5 V) and one trigger input (TTL) to be connected to a data logger.

Plant Science Instruments / Portable Photosynthesis System

CIRAS-2 Portable Photosynthesis and Chlorophyll Fluorescence Measurement System

The CIRAS-2 is a true differential system. It features 4 independent, non-dispersive Gas analyzers for accurate, simultaneous measurement of both CO2 and H2O Eliminating the problems associated with ggas switchingh systems. There are no moving parts. The analyzers (reference and analysis) include an infrared source, gold plated and highly polished sample cells and detectors. Theb analyzers act as absorption-meters measuring only in the 4.26 ƒสm (CO2) and 2.60ƒสm (H2O) wavebands ensuring accurate, rapid and stable results.
